Schedule, Cancellations, & Delays

DAILY SCHEDULE

Students may begin entering the school building at 7:30AM.
Saint Therese students arriving after 7:55AM will be marked as tardy.  The daily school schedule for students is as follows: 

Homeroom:  7:55AM-8:05AM
1^st Period: 8:05AM-8:45AM
2^nd Period: 8:45AM-9:25AM
3^rd Period: 9:25-10:05AM
4^th Period: 10:05AM-10:45AM
5^th Period:  10:45AM-11:25AM
6^th Period: 11:25AM-12:05PM
7^th Period: 12:05PM-12:45PM
8^th Period: 12:45PM-1:25PM
9^th Period: 1:25PM-2:10PM
Homeroom:  2:10PM-2:20PM
Dismissal Begins: 2:20PM

Students in Kindergarten through 3^rd Grade eat lunch 5^th period; Grades 4-8 eat lunch 6^th period.
 

CANCELLATIONS AND DELAYS

The decision to close or delay school is one not taken lightly.  Saint Therese School typically follows the Steel Valley School District for weather closings and delays. Other situations may result in Saint Therese School being delayed or closed when Steel Valley is not (or vice versa) such as utility issues, etc. Parents are advised to keep checking as delays may turn into school closings. 

In the event of a 2-hour delay, the school building opens for students at 9:30AM.  

Parents are informed of school closings or delays due to weather or other circumstances in the following ways:

• Through the OptionC Parent Alert System by sending out email, telephone and text messages.

• By listening for an announcement regarding Saint Therese School, Munhall, on the following channels: KDKA-TV (Ch. 2), WTAE-TV (Ch.4) and WPXI-TV (Ch. 11) and their station websites.   Saint Therese School will always be listed separately from Steel Valley School District. 

Two-hour delay schedule for the four-year-old class:

• 10:00AM Start Time
• Students who attend morning session only are dismissed at 12:00PM. 

Two-hour delay schedule for the three-year-old class:

• Students are to arrive by 10:00AM and will be dismissed at 12:00PM.
